oh gosh, finally i had spanish tapas and spanish food again. i miss tapas so much. the tapas at via mar, esplanade was pretty good. the bread is nice. and the beef tenderloin is awesome. must go back there and eat again. one day. some day. with some one or some body (or bodies?)
okay, i got my pay check today and it's pretty satisfying. good that they give salary on time. don't everyone just hate companies that doesn't pay on time? after working for a month and with that cheque at the end of the month, you feel everything that you worked for, all the hardship and of cos', all the fun is worth doing.
time to sleep
p.s. looking forward to the 1st-pay dinner (cum monthly meeting) with my mates.

today's friends on channel 5 is so funny, especially the stripper part, and the "first kiss" part. or maybe i need a great laugh. i don't really watch friends, until the season finale. shame. charmed will be on channel 5 soon - but i've watched season 6 already.
i miss school so much, so much, so much, so much...

great movies
07.20.04 (6:52 am) [edit]
|
it is me or is it the movie makers have woke up their idea? have watched good movies recently. start with mean girls, then connie and carla, and today i watched spiderman 2. good graphics and excellent sound system - excellent! watched with agnes (not agnes yeo) and do a bit of catching up at sakae having sushi. still coughing like hell and feeling really tired now. the weather is terrible tonight. so warm! can't wait for this thursday and friday. it's coming! fast isn't it?! time passes real fast working in ses. i always forgot the time and agnes, kamlesh and alan are the ones who remind me it's time for lunch and it's about time to go home. at this speed, i think i'll finish my 1-year internship in no time. (seriously, i think it's a stupid sentence... imagne what i'm talking about... i'll finish 1-year internship in no time? no time? 1-year means 1-year... what in no time?!) oh well. in no time, i mean time will pass very fast, which is what i want right now. i want to quickly finish internship, finish national service and finally do what i want. feel like sleeping, yet feel like watching tv.

connie & carla
07.17.04 (6:38 am) [edit]
connie & carla it's a good movie. catch and have a good laugh. you know you need that - whoever you are.
it's great that i had a good laugh watching connie & carla. i need that. i've been really busy that i didn't have time to breathe. it's weird that i wish 5.30pm don't come so early, because i have mountains of work to do. i worked til pretty late on friday as i still have work haven't finish. if not for claudine asking me to go back, i would have stayed til 9plus. okay, you might be thinking it is that i'm slow or i'm slacking or that i really have lotsa work to do. the answer is, i have a lot of work to do. for everything i do, i did it fast and accurate as possible. i don't mingle and spend time eating snacks, making coffee or milo, i didn't gossip with my colleagues. all i do is work work and work. *sigh* i think i'll fall sick soon if i continue this way. having a bad cough, sore throat and cold. gosh. that leads to fever man. but my temperature is normal.
but good thing is i don't have to work on saturday so i can finally have a good sleep. i slept all the way til 3pm today and i wish i can sleep some more. i feel so tired. not physically, but mentally. some thing that work is better than school is, i don't have to study and can do nothing at home. rest rest rest.
another good thing; despite busy working, i've been going out quite often. that's what i call, the more i work, i more i desire for a "life".
chocolate spa... hmm... chocolate buffet at fullerton. anyone? heh!

embrassing
07.14.04 (3:43 am) [edit]
it's so embrassing. even though i don't know who is he, but he sits in the office. i have to work until 6plus today as i got a last minute (5-something pm) task to do, and it need to be done by tomorrow morning around 9.30am. so i stayed and searched for the documents and printed and so on. then when i'm done with the work, i packed up and wanted to go off. but the main door was locked so i went to take the firemen's lift. the guy (some manager or executive i think) is smoking somewhere, then the door locked itself! he told me "you locked the door?" and i was like, "er, the i just open and close it, cause the main door is locked." then he told me i actually can walk out by the side door (near the entrance - but i don't know where). it's so embrassing, i actually locked him out and i wonder how he gets into the office. oh well, i hopefully i can change seat tomorrow or friday because i have a cactus waiting for me. heh!
rest time! :)

364 days left
07.12.04 (2:46 am) [edit]
|
that is, my first day of work. a little overloaded with information. and names and who's who is one thing i always didn't get. i still don't really know who's who. but i have a decent seat, decent work station, decent computer, decent printer, decent phone. anyway, i'll be moved to a workstation with view and stuff in a few days' time. i think my new seat looks so much better than the one i have now. but i'm satisfied. i got lotsa work to do, no overtime needed however. it took me hours to do filing and i wrote "28/06/04" and the word "propose" for more than 200 times. but it's alright. i always do filing at home for all the school work too, so i kinda enjoy doing what i do at home - except it takes more time to do it there as their files are really thick and some, difficult to understand. and blah blah blah. lotsa work to do tomorrow, but good that i know what and how to do. so, ciao!

this is it!
07.11.04 (7:06 am) [edit]
this is it... tomorrow. i really hope for the best, but i'm not thinking that way. i'm thinking all the negative things like i can't remember their names after introduction before i'm too nervous and there's too many people. or they ask me to do something and i feel so new to the place and i feel so uneasy and that i'll be a dumbo and they'll bitch me being such a dumbo. and i'm afraid they expect a lot from me before i'm the scholarship boy. ahh... i just don't know. so empty.
if you don't know what i'm ranting about... it's my first day of work at a exhibition company. internship.
wish me luck. all the luck i need.
need to rest now - talk more about my bintan trip when i'm free. kisses!

mean girls
07.09.04 (9:43 am) [edit]
mean girls is such an awesome movie. you can really relate to your days in high school or even college. like there's always this group of girls who think they are the most popular and prettiest where actually everyone hates them and only those dumb boys or badass will go after them. then there's these groups of nerds hanging out together, having their own kind of fun - with maths or science maybe. then there's this group of people who are asians or the funky people or international students (like china-gals only hang out or good-english speaker only and such). remember when you were in high school or college? which category were you in? as for me, i'm pretty anti-social in high school (or rather, secondary school) so, i'm sorta in the outcast or weird person group - a group consist of my own. i think mean girls have a little similarity as compared to [i]never been kissed[/i] (drew barrymore) - just with a difference of course. mean girls is such a brilliant movie - go catch it!
off to bintan on saturday (which is later in the morning). i'll have fun, and get ready for work.

japan trip
07.07.04 (4:44 am) [edit]
okay, day 2 in japan. we took the bullet train from yokohama station to tokyo station. the train lines are so complicated and you gotta slot two cards in together. how weird. upon reaching tokyo, we walk around Ginza the orchard road of japan. it's more upclass so you don't see a lot of young people. then we have to wait til 11am sharp then the shopping centre opens. and sharp, 11am then it opens. japanese loves to queue. and even for shopping, they queue to get into the shopping centres. if we're in singapore, we don't even bother. the japanese just want to be the first few to shop, so they queue, even they didn't plan to buy something. we visited sanrio, the huge hello kitty place - well, nothing in for me actually. then we had our BBQ lunch after a brief walk, passingby prada, gucci, lv and such designer brands. the bbq lunch is okay, but it make me stink after the meal. then we walked to a 5-story toy shopping centre. it's a huge toy store and it's pretty cool. bought some stuff from there. ivan and david bought the latest tamagochi. it's too expensive for me though. actually it's not "that" impressive (i mean the toy mega store). i went to a bigger one in london and i mean it's really huge. it's about 4 or 5 story high as well, and it's huge.
Next, we visited the famous asakusa kannon temple, the oldest temple, the gate is believed to separate the everyday world from the divine world. at the end of the street, a smaller gateway opens to five-story pagoda and main hall. after that, we visited tokyo odaiba which offers an amazing selection of entertainment and exhibition facilities. the most striking landmark in this area of tokyo is palette towns massive ferries wheel, one largest in the world. it's actually quite ugly. london eye is so much prettier - and our very own upcoming singaporean ferries wheel better be pretty. at palette town, we visited the toyota motors exhibition.
last day, disneyland tokyo. gosh. so many people. that's all i can say.
all in all, japan is a systematic place with extraordinary culture and beauitful language. such a lovely place. who knows, i might venture north in the future, or maybe join a japanese company like marian did (prime travel). 8)
[LINE]
alright, how about talk about today. interesting day. afternoon went down town and had my haircut. it's alright. then went shopping. gosh. bought 3 vcds, one cd and a shirt. what am i doing?! well, shopping!!!
okay, the last trip of the year (i think it will be, but hope it won't be - got me?!). to bintan (for the 2nd time). but this time i'll be staying in a 2 bedroom villa which is cool. friday got some stuff to buy for the getaway trip. and my life in the exhibition industry will begin.
lovely night.
[b]ps. gheez! i spent S$74 for my photographs... how more expensive can it more be?! [/b]

nihon - the land of rising sun (day 1)
07.05.04 (8:37 pm) [edit]
i was feeling okay when travelling to the airport for my flight to japan. i also feel that way when travelling. only when i reach the destination, i feel more excited. JAL plane looks alright, but ain't as comfortable as Thai and Malaysia's national plane. and seriously the breakfast suck big time. however, the return flight dinner is pretty okay and i quite enjoy it (especially the scallop, yum!). the inflight entertainment is excellent especially on my flight back. i watched charlie's angels, peter pan and 50 first dates.
unlike being in uk, where i missed home, i don't feel like going back when i was in japan. it's a great place and systematic which is what i like. except when you throw your rubbish, you have to look which 'hole' to throw into. they seperate plastic bottles, cans and others. and heard from our guide, everyday the japan can throw different thrash as they only collect certain type of thrash on certain days. troublesome yay!? but interesting.
upon arrival narita airport, we move on to hakone after a long wait for this two couple and the wait extend throughout the trip. they just have to be late all the time. but well. singaporeans. we took a 10 minutes cruise at the lake ashi. i would say it look pretty with the fog and mountains as the background. then we had our typical japanese lunch at a local restaurant. still can remember the miso soup taste - good. then we visited the owakudani boiling valley. it stinks there. smell like rotten eggs. bought a few boxes of snacks there and it look brillant. so beautiful that you don't really care how it taste, you just have to buy it. mt fuji is next. most people say that if you never see or visit the mt fuji, it's like you haven't been to japan. i went, i saw and i went up to the 5th station which is altitude 2,305 metres. back to the hotel, tatami. very small but the place is great. just outside the window it's lake kawaguchi and with moutains as the background. i went to hot spring myself and relax while ivan and david gone to dreamland. luckily not a lot of people there, only one adult and 2 little boy. or else it will be so embrassing as i have to get naked to go in. it feel so good. the water is not as hot as i expected to be, but it's at the right temperature. but i came out after like 10 minutes or so as my heat of the water make my blood pressure goes up and heart beat went really fast. need to sleep. that's it for day 1 - a typical japanese experience. everything is in japanese style. the food, the accommodation, and the hot spring.
check back for day 2, the tokyo city experience!
